I was thinking about getting the Y450. But it kinda bothers me that it is 13.4" Wide. It would be replaceing my Dell M1330 which is only 12" wide. Is 13.4" wide kinda large for a notebook of this class?

well the Y450 is a 14" .. the extra width might be contributed due to the larger screen size .. altho marginally

No, it's about right. The Y450 has a 16:9 screen, so it is relatively wider and not as tall as 16:10 laptops.
