I purchased my Y470 back in August of last year but only recently I've noticed some pink splotches appearing randomly in grayish/blueish parts of the screen. Here's one recently while playing L4D2

I guess the only course of action for this is to replace the screen?

Have you updated your video drivers? Does it happen on an external monitor?

    Ah..yes..spoiler..thanks :)

It works fine on an external monitor and the video drivers are up to date. It could be a loose connection?

I honestly doubt it, with artifacts like that on the internal LCD, it more than likely is a bad LCD, rare chance it could be a bad LVDS cable, you won't be able to rule anything out without replacing one or the other.
