i keep getting BSOD since i got it...the blue screen also shows "nvlddmkm.sys" as the culprit and im on stock drivers..i did the one key recovery and the issue has once or twice a day. I had it sent for a fix but the issue still persists. I remember reading that someone else in the owner's section had the same issue but I don't know if the person resolved this issue. .and everything its BSOD and the laptop reboots, my nvidia card goes undetected by sidebar graphics dispay and msi afterburner..i have to shut down and power on to fix this issue temporarily...Does anyone have a permant fix for this issue?

By the looks it most likely is a video driver problem. Does your laptop have both intergrated and dedicated video? If its just nvidia, get newest drivers from their web sight. That should help.

I have the same exact issue! I have had this laptop for about 2 weeks and it has happened to me 3 times! It seems to happen randomly. Each time it was caused by nvlddmkm.sys as well. I also need to restart my PC to get it to recognize the 550m again. I use EVGA precision instead of Afterburner. I don't do any overclocking and I am using the latest drivers (280.26).
Here is my dmp file with the crash report:
091311-27019-01.dmp
I am glad I am not alone in this issue, but unfortunately, I do not know how to fix it at this time.
@addie56 the title states Y470, which has a nvidia 550m and it uses the integrated GPU on the second gen Intel sandy Bridge processor. I also have the latest drivers and unfortunately, this did not fix the problem...
Also, nvlddmkm.sys refers specifically to a Nvidia driver file, so yes, it could be a driver issue, but using the latest driver did not seem to fix the issue.
edit:
I found this post for some reference, but it is pretty old: http://forums.techarena.in/vista-hardware-devices/689444.htm
I might try running driver sweeper and reinstalling the drivers. Any other ideas? -
i did a fresh install with windows ultimate (version doesn't matter) and I haven't had the issue since (it has been two weeks since my fresh install..i am running 280.26 currently and everything runs fine -
Good to hear your graphics and BSOD issues are gone kobby2k6.
However, remember that regular maintenance is the key to keep that way.
Cheers, -
thanks for the tip, I will make sure to do that

I'm having multiple daily BSODs. Says it's the nvidia driver. Already did a fresh install of Win 7 Home Prem x64 on my 120gb SSD. Running the newest nvidia driver from their site. I am an IT pro and getting fed up with this.

i tried that driver last week (the newest one for skyrim or something) and got a blue screen as well...i went back to the 275.50 drivers and that one works perfectly for me...make sure to unistall the previous drivers before you install a new one..
Y470 daily blue screen issue?
