I finally noticed that my Y470's GPU was throttling under load. Tried overclocking the 550M a little, 760/1080, and it was dipping a good 250mhz in Kombustor. Pulled the OC off, retried, still dipping 250mhz under the regular clocks. The GPU was doing pretty swell at 70C, I can't understand why it's throttling.
edit: Upon closer inspection, it seems like it's just throttling down 250mhz by default. MSI Afterburner shows that the speed never gets close to 700mhz; it climbs to 504mhz and just stops. I'm running 310.90 drivers by the way.

I did take it apart a few months ago, dedusted, and replaced Lenovo's thermal grease (Arctic MX-2). Under normal gaming loads, my CPU tends to hover around 82C, imo that looks fine to me. Is the throttling supposed to be common in this model, or is something weird going on with mine o_O?

edit: BIOS maybe? my version is v2.09, which is weird as Lenovo only offers v2.06. I'm seeing talk of a v2.10 though...

edit2: Flashed onto a v2.10 mod, GPU now not throttling and CPU turbo seems to have increased. Odd why Lenovo doesn't have a v2.10 uploaded even though some models seem to have shipped with them.
