So I am looking at the Y570 and its GT 555m. However, I found out that it only had 96 stream processors! So, it seems the Y470's gt 550m also has 96 stream processors. So, basically if I went with the Y470 I would technically have the same GPU? I just wanted to clarify on this as I am leaning towards the Y470 because it is smaller and I like smaller laptops. Can you please clarify on this? Thank you.

The performance is depending on the used version of the card (see above). The 3DMark 06 performance for example ranges from 8857 points (Lenovo Ideapad Y570) to 13000 points (MSI GX780R). The GT 555M in the Lenovo therefore is just a fast GT 550M. The average GT 555M (with 144 shaders) is positioned in the lower high end class and enables users to play demanding games in high settings at 1366x768. Only Metro 2033 had to be played in lower settings in our benchmark tests (see below).

Thanks for the info. I just decided to go with the Y470 as opposed to the Y570 since it's pretty much the same exact thing, but in a smaller laptop.

You'll like the Y470. I have the i5 version, and I love it. I can play many games on the highest settings just fine. The size is great too.

The Y470 is not a bad option of a computer since it's one of the most powerful 14" laptops available.
However, the Y570 is not competitive with other 15-inch mid-range gamers. 1366x768 resolution is only slightly too low for a 14" screen, but it's downright mediocre for a 15.6" screen. Plus, the GT 555M card in the Sager NP5165 is slightly faster than the GT 555M in the Y570, and the Sager NP5165 has a 1920x1080 display with much better image quality and much better multitasking capability (fit more windows on your screen). There's also the HP DV6t which when configured correctly (AMD Radeon 6770M and 1920x1080 display) gives the Y570 a run for its money,
