Has anyone tried it, or know what CPU's it supports?

    Thanks

What CPU is in it now, and what are you looking/wanting to get?

it has the 2670qm in it, maybe down the road I would consider a i7-2920XM or i7-2960XM

Usually, Lenovo has really strict BIOS that doesn't allow certain CPU's, wireless cards, etc. But the data sheet shows the i7-2920XM on it. So you may be in luck. If it were me, I would find a seller that allowed for returns so you're not stuck with a CPU you can't use.

I literally just went from i3-2330 to i7-2630qm today, everything works flawlessly, and temps are lower than they were with the i3 after I re-did the crappy factory paste job.

I used this to take apart and reassemble the laptop. It took me about 2 hours in total because I'm not good working with small parts. Didn't break anything, though!

Please see my post in the Owners' Lounge for more details.

Looks quite similar to the gate p-6860fx for processor swapping, when I did my gateway it was a piece of cake.

I'd like to do the 2960xm later in the future, as the price diff between that and the 2920xm is minimal.
I never understood the hardware locking aspect of the bios, no sensible reasoning to me... I have an Intel 6250, and a pioneer blu-ray drive on the way in for mine, if they don't work I may have to pray to the "bios gods" I hear they do good work... :D
