I have been trying to do a clean install of windows 7 with my new ssd via usb stick but I keep getting the unable to create a new partition error. I have been told to remove all other drives which may fix the problem.

Where do I find/how do I remove the 32gb msata that came with the laptop?

    Thanks!

    Check under the bottom cover.

I looked briefly through the manual: http://consumerdl.lenovo.com.cn/Use...480&Y580 Hardware Maintenance Manual V1.0.pdf
On pp 43 it shows you where the WWAN slot. That should be where the mSATA drive is.

Before you do though try using a third party partition editor first, like GParted Live. Reformat everything and create the partitions first before running the Windows installer. I always find when reinstalling an OS the most frustrating part can be getting your partitions right, and Windows can break partitions in weird ways if you let it.
