So I took apart my Y480 to apply new thermal paste and after putting it back together it won't charge. I took it apart again and unplugged the 2 possible plugs and replugged them and it still won't charge. Can anyone help?
Edit: It also doesn't use power directly from the outlet either.

You might have to dissemble it again and recheck your assembly specially where the motherboard connector for charging making contact with the battery and on the motherboard where the power-plug goes into it.
I've dissembled my Y570 about 5 times now, it's actually one of the easier laptops I've had the privilege to dissemble however some of the screws can come off their rooting if you screw them too tight so be careful.
I've seen videos of the Y580 dissemble and it's very similar to the Y570's, I had to use the service manual for my Y570 since I dissembled it so early in it's life that no one had videos or instructions up yet (no I didn't put an instructions up after I was done simply cause I suck at those kinds of things plus I didn't have a very decent camera).
Hope that helps and you can diagnostic the problem and maybe get further help from official Y580 owner's that have done the same.
