Anyone had any luck putting in a LCD with higher resolution in a Y480? I've bought a 1600x900 screen that fits perfectly, but the image is distorted when connected via the native LVDS cable. I'm assuming there's a single channel LVDS in the Y480, and I should get a dual channel LVDS to support the higher resolution. Unfortunately, I can't find any LVDS cables for the Y480 (or Y580). Also, I'm not sure that the motherboard in the Y480 can even support a dual channel LVDS. Any thoughts? Is any of this possible? Thanks

Hi mptilson, I am also thinking of upgrading my y480 screen panel but I have very limited info that can get in internet.. may I know the status of your upgrade? I hopenit is successful and pls share on your experience.

Or is there any friends here can enlighten us on how to go about for this upgrade? I am thinking to get the panel of Lenovo z400 which is also a 14inc but with hd+ resolution and get the lvds cable of the same for my replacement but I not sure if it works.

Anyone can help? Thanks in advance.
