Question for audio nerds: Does anybody know if the Lenovo Ideapad Y500 supports Dolby Headphone mode or any kind of virtualized surround sound / downmixing for headphones?

Specifically, I am looking for something that can take a 5.1 / 7.1 source audio stream, and virtualize it into 2.0 stereo channels for use in headphones. Examples of this are Creative Labs CMSS3D Headphone, or Dolby Headphone mode.

To be clear, this is *NOT* the Dolby modes that come pre-shipped with the laptop (Movie, Music, Game), which takes a source 2.0 stereo audio source, and tries to process it to emulate surround sound on 2.0 output channels.

Are there any options using the built-in laptop hardware, or do I need external hardware (e.g. Creative Labs USB sound card, or Dolby HEadphone processor over S/PDIF) to achieve this?

    Thank you.
