Hi,i just recently own a Y500 and i format it to Windows 7. I have some issues with installing the drivers back. I go through different forums saying lenovo china,US site and some of them isnt working. For example, Nvdia driver,i tried install the 306 from china site and 310 from nvidia but i keep getting not compatible. This is 1 of the driver that isnt working.

Anyone have any solution for this or anyone that face the same issue?

I NEED HELP. How do I boot up to a CD with this Y500?? I've searched everywhere and the BIOS seems locked - the only way I can think is to reflash it but I don't want to potentially mess anything up...is there an easy way to put Windows 7 on here if I have the CD...any help is appreciated, thanks!!

I have noticed that drivers are better for Windows8 OS for this laptop. I don't recommend to install Windows 7 into this laptop, had many troubles with it. If you think that the interface of the Windows 8 is awful (as I do) you can always install Start8 software from the Stardock. It makes Windows8 to look like Windows 7.

The software/hardware I need to run on this is only compatible with Windows 7. I'm noticing that the software is running slow on W8 also...and I can't install some other software that I normally use that is W7 compatible. Say I wanted to switch things...how would I go about booting from a CD?

    First turn off your computer.
Then you can find small button next to power adapter plug hole on the left side of the laptop.
Push that button so that computer turns on and you can see options to select Boot menu, from there you should be able to select to boot from CD.

    Hi
You need to disable secure boot and UEFI in the bios. This would help you boot from cd.
    Have a nice day
