i got myself a new sd card (16 gb class 10) and decided ito install ubuntu on it. i am facing a very major issue. the bios does not recognize the card as a bootable device. if i use an external card reader... the operating system boots. ...what do i do to make it boot from the internal sd card .

    any help is greatly appreciated

I dont think you can boot from the internal sd card reader. Maybe possible by the unlocked bios but i doubt it (havent used the unlocked bios so cant confirm)

dont worry i found a way to do it
i used the sd card as a ready boost cache(decreased start time significantly)
made a 50 gb partition (resized the 800 gb one)
    installed ubuntu on that.
    works perfectly
