    Hello,

I tried connecting my Laptop to my jobs network Ethernet cable and it's not longer working properly. I've tried reinstalling the drivers, it's a Broadcom NetLink (TM) Fast Ethernet and that did not resolve the issue. Tried changing the DNS servers and a few other things and nothing worked. Using a USB adapter currently and that works fine. Also the Wireless (Intel(R) Wireless WiFi Link 4965AG) seems to be working fine.

No errors show up in the Device Manager for the Broadcom, it was working fine yesterday (and for the last 6 months). What happens is I'll bootup, log in and it will be slow getting a network connection, then I'll be able to log into my IM (Digsby) and open Firefox, and google.com will load, but as soon as I try to go to another page I get a message that it will not find the page (or any page). The little blue ball will then disappear from the Network icon in the system tray and I'll lose all internet access. If I try and repair it is unable to fix the problem. I've done an ipconfig /all and it shows I have an IP and I'm able to ping for a few tries then it'll 'die' again and I won't be able to access the internet.

Tried safe mode and it still would not work correctly. Was wondering if anyone had any ideas of what I could try next. Or if I would be able to replace the Broadcom myself without having to send it to Lenovo or some place else to get it fixed.

    Thank you.

Seems the issue is with the Vista Driver, guess it's corrupted somehow. I installed Windows 7 RC and it's working fine. So I'll try deleting the driver and re-downloading the driver from Lenovo to see if that resolves the issue.

Windows 7RC is pretty nice on this Lenovo, really snappy. Only issue I'm having is with the touchpad, going to try installing the synaptics drivers and see if I can't disable it since 99% of the time I use an external mouse.
