As we've all experienced, Y510p case is fingerprint-magnet. As soon as I handled mine, I would leave marks on the surface. With Optimus feature, I carry it around more often. So, it became dirty-looked old notebook in very short time. I tried to clean the surface from time to time. But, having to clean it so often defeated the purpose of using notebook.

I finally put on the top cover a matte translucent skin, which make the surface look much darker. It does not pick up any fingerprint but also does not look as nice as the original surface. I can now handle it without much concerns.

I am still looking for better/ nicer skin. There is carbon-fiber style skin for Y510p on the eBay. Has anyone tried it?

How do you deal with the fingerprint problem?

Where did you get the matte clear skin?

I got a translucent (not clear) film from a local IT shop near my place. It was cut to fit the cover shell and then shrink-wrapped by hot air from drier.

Ahh understood, thank you. I've seen the carbon fiber one on eBay. It looks of high quality, but is a bit too showy for my tastes.

Isopropyl Alcohol + Microfiber cloth (or regular towel). Takes it off easily
