Hi, I have an Ideapad Y510P that won't boot. It will not post and the screen is always black. When I press the power button or Novo button the power LED comes on and the keyboard lights up. After 10 secs the fan comes on and runs at a high speed for 30 secs and then the laptop shuts off and does it again in a loop.

When the battery is in it won't turn on or charge. The battery LED doesn't come on but my kill-a-watt registers 0.5-1.6 watts. If I press the power button down continuously the battery LED blinks orange occasionally and if I hold it down it blinks orange continuously. So I can only get it to do anything with the battery out.

I've tried re-seating the RAM, tested the power supply and took out the battery and charger and held the power button down for 30 secs a few times but none of that worked. What else can I do to get to the bottom of this? Any help is much appreciated.

You need to return your Y510p to Lenovo for a warranty check.

Opened it and found severe water damage. Warranty is Limited and won't cover it. I'll post back if I get it running. Thanks
