    Y510p - SATA

    On the Y510p, Does anyone know if the primary drive controller is SATA 2 or SATA 3. Thanks

    I'm not 100% sure, but since the chipset (Intel HM87) supports SATA 3, im pretty sure it's SATA 3.

    Correct me if im wrong, but SATA 3 support is chipset-based, and most Sandy Bridge or newer laptops support SATA 3.

    However the stock hard drive that comes with the laptop is SATA 2, not that it matters much on a 5400RPM spinner.

    Also, the laptop supports PCIe based Storage via the 42mm M.2 (NGFF) port.

    How about the ultrabay? Is that SATA2 or SATA3?
