I want to buy Y510p but I have heard that this notebook can be really hot. 750M SLI and Haswell Cpu gets it hotter especially ultrabay thing but this notebook have great gaming performance. I think that if I use a notebook cooler like Zalman NC3000 can decrease this temps.

Is anybody using this notebook with a cooler pad? If there is could u tell me when you play a game about 2 - 3 hours what is the temps?(Cpu and Gpu)

My GPU, which is overclocked, peaks at 83°C, and my CPU seems to peak at around 85°C, though i am not running SLI and my CPU is undervolted to reduce temps. Also, if you are worried about hotness, here are my 3 recommendations:

    1. Use a cooling pad
    2. Undervolt your CPU
    3. Repaste your CPU

If you buy your Y510p from the link below, you can pay like 30$ extra to have your CPU repasted, which could significantly improve your temps.

Question, will it void our warranty if we re-paste our own CPUs?

Yep, since you have to break the Lenovo Seal to remove the system board from the chassis. XOTIC PC has their own warranty if there's something wrong with their repasting.

Undervolting and repasting is not a good idea. Why should we undervolt the cpu? I need power but I have to undervolt the cpu because getting too hot :) I saw street test on notebookcheck but something is weird about ultrabay 750m gpu temperature is 50 degrees of celcius.

I have 2 option now. Asus N550 and Lenovo y510p. Asus more cooler but less power. Lenovo has more power but if I cant use that power because of temps what should I do?
I think maybe notebook cooler be useful on decreasing these temps or maybe not.

And improved temps using cooling pad?
