Has anybody had any success ordering the new Y series from a website other than Lenovo.com? I know there have been a lot of issues with the direct orders, and no one has had theirs delivered yet, but I was wondering if anyone's tried a reseller. I found a great config of the Y550 on tigerdirect.com for $649, but I don't want to waste my time and money if the problem is with the factory and not with Lenovo's customer service/shipping department. What do you think?

Usually lenovo delivers machines to the 3rd party retailers. However, that being said Tiger Direct is a horrible company. You might want to check with whatever retailer to see if they actually have them on stock and not simply expecting delivery from lenovo.

People are having problems getting their Y550?

I placed an order May 14th and it shipped May 15th from lenovo.

What sucks is that I actually called the 14th to cancel it, but they still shipped it. So I guess I'm stuck with it.

(I decided I wanted a laptop with a better graphics card)

Well in that case it seems you can sell it pretty easily if people are having a hard time obtaining them :p.

Perhaps the issue with shipping is only isolated to the Y450 models then
