My 5 years old Y550 started powering down instantly depending how the screen would be tilted.....back or forward.
Then the screen died completely, but the laptop would still work,I tried the VGA out to a external display to make sure the GPU was ok,and it worked ok no problem.
I trace down the problem to the screen ribbon cable.
I ordered a new cable ....fitted....and the screen is alive ....but is all red?? It seams the black colours are now displayed in red. It happens from start...including BIOS.
    Suggestions? Thanx
