Guys, I'm selling my HP dv7t and I'm looking for a smaller laptop.

However, I sold y X200 w touchscreen to a friend of mine and I am so far impressed with Lenovo's service vs that of other companies and I thought I'd get one myself.

I don't need something spectacular but I want to use it from time to time (I have a netbook I really like with 2 gigs of ram) and when my workstation takes a dump which it/they frequently do, use it as a backup to use with stuff like Photoshop.

Photoshop will be the most demanding software I'll use so I don't need something super fast.

I DO NOT play games and NO video editing.

I really like the idea of getting the brown U260 but I wanted opinions.

I don't think I'll mind the smaller screen of the U260 and I'm guessing it's got a full size keyboard..

Here are the specs for the U260:

    Processor Intel® Core™ i5-470UM (1.33GHz base; 1.86GHz Max Turbo, 3MB Cache)
Operating System Genuine Windows 7 Home Premium 64 - English
    Total Memory 4GB PC3-8500 DDR3 1067MHz SDRAM SODIMM Memory
Hard Drive 320GB, 5400RPM Serial ATA 2.5" Hard Drive
    Display 12.5” HD WXGA (1366 X 768) LED, W/ Camera
Graphics Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator HD
    Optical Device Optical Not Included
    Keyboard/Pointing Device Industry Standard Touchpad
Battery 4 Cell Lithium Polymer Battery (Up to 4.0 Hours Run Time)
    Ethernet/Wireless Intel® Centrino Wireless-N 1000 (1x2 bgn)
    Mobile Broadband No WWAN Supported
    Bluetooth Yes
    Integrated Camera Yes
    Color Mocha

    The Y560:

    Processor Intel® Core™ i5-460M (2.53GHz base; 2.80GHz Max Turbo, 3MB Cache)
Operating System Genuine Windows 7 Home Premium 64 - English
    Total Memory 4GB (2 X 2GB) PC3-8500 DDR3 1067MHz SDRAM SODIMM Memory
Hard Drive 500GB, 5400RPM Serial ATA 2.5" Hard Drive
    Display 15.6” HD WXGA (1366 X 768) TFT-LED VibrantView, W/ 1.3 MP Camera
Graphics Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator HD
    Optical Device DVD Recordable SATA
    Keyboard/Pointing Device Industry Standard Touchpad
Battery 6 Cell Lithium Ion Battery (Up to 4 Hours Run Time)
    Ethernet/Wireless 11b/g/n Wi-Fi wireless
    Mobile Broadband No WWAN Supported
    Bluetooth No
    Integrated Camera Yes
    Color Black
    Fingerprint Reader No

The Y560 has a dvd drive and a bigger drive, both which I can live WITHOUT but it IS $100 cheaper than the U260 which is cool.

Any comments? I will also be using a mouse all the time

    Thanks

    George

What are you willing to spent on it? Is size and battery life important?

Some owners have had some issues with the hinge on the y560 failing them after long term usage. That may be worth thinking about. I had the same processor in my u160 and she handled light photoshop just fine as well as day-to-day work.

If you haven't already, I would see what Lenovo.com and the Outlet have to offer since there are some killer deals going on right now.

    That's where I found them. 350 vs 450

Light photoshop is all I really need. Never do very big files.

If I get actual FOUR hours of use on a good brightness on the screen, I'm good. I'm used to short battery life anyway and don't plan on working in public for too many hours.

As for size, I'm liking the U260 but I can do a Y560 size. My dv7t is kinda big but that's not the reason I'm selling it. Reason might be stupid to most people but it irritates the hell outta me

By the way,m same processor in your u160 as which of the two?

Of course, then there's an S205 with AMD® Fusion™ E350 (1.6GHz, 1MB L2) and 3 gigs but that might be a bit under powered, right?

What kind of money and specs and why that one?

Oh hell no, it's over 1000 bucks. I need to be under 500
