Hi all,
My girlfriend is a new graphic designer, looking for a *laptop* ( not matter how much I beg her to build a desktop she wont oblige) for using 3dmax, Maya and cs5/6 photoshop. Her company provided her with a 13" Macbook pro, but for legal reasons she needs her own computer to do personal work/games.
We are looking at the base model which is going for $899 right now. It comes with the 768p screen, and the 5,400rpm HDD.
My question is this: She plans on using an external monitor 100% of the time, a vizio 32" 1080p tv with a 120hz refresh rate. If she gets the 768p version, will it hinder her ability to use this TV, or would be exactly the same as if she got the 1080p version?
Thanks for any help!

Many people would suggest to use the 1920x1080 display over the 1366x768 display because of the increased pixel density and how it displays text. If you get the 1366x768 screen, the text and other items displayed have to be "stretched" on a 15.6" display.
If you are opting to use an external display, the only thing that will hinder it is the hardware, which is identical on all models. So if you are only going to use the TV as an external monitor, go ahead and save the few hundred dollars. -
So the HDMI output on the 768 model is identicle? Cool! that really helps me out. Thank you so much
Will this graphics card struggle with the tvs 120mhz refresh rate? Or isn't that pretty common refresh rate for all monitors in general. -
The inherent refresh rate of a TV has very little hold to what a computer can output, especially the 660M GTX in the Y580.
