After reviewing the Windows Event Viewer, there seems to be an error that keeps reoccuring in the log:

An error has occurred (---query POLICYVT key success failed with 0, The Code is:0x424.).

My Y580 is the base FHD model without the 32GB mSATA drive. I did a factory restore and noticed that the error item still appears, which leads me to believe there's more to the error.

I've done some Google searching, but haven't found a solution or cause of the error. Users from the Lenovo forums have also reported the problem (also no fix).

I wanted to see if this group could get to the bottom of the error and hopefully find a solution.

I found some information regarding the error. The "Source" listed in Windows Event Viewer is "NSDSvc", which looks to be linked to Lenovo's Fast boot service. I tried running the CMD line found here to disable the service:

How to Disable NSDSvc , Fast boot service of lenovo

Unfortunately, it tells me that Access is denied.
