The GTX 660M in my y580 was acting up on BF3. It was having artifacts(not overclocked) and was having half the screen go BLACK. I did update to the newest beta drivers, could this be it? i rolled backed to the last drivers and it seems fine. I think, it still runs around 75C(gpu) and has artifacts/random. it never did this at first. it started getting hotter.

I rolled back and I saw some graphic artifacts.
Anyone else? This is on BF3.

Sounds like a driver related issue since 75 degrees isnt overheating. Try completely uninstalling your drivers (there are programs that do a clean wipe) and reinstalling the old. Does it happen with other games? I've not tried BF3 on my 580.

What would be overheating on a GPU?
Mine does reach 75C (Celsius not degrees) sometimes.

This started happening with my 660m in the y580 as well. I actually did overclock my GPU to 1200 mHz, but even then it was staying under 68 degrees in far cry 3 and GW2 both on ultra. Then I didn't play for about a week because I was studying, I installed Microsoft Office and "rocketdock" and also Windows Update updated some things, but I'm not even sure what.

Anyway it was running fine, low heat high fps, I come back after not playing anything for a week and my GPU won't stay overclocked on start up and easily gets near 80 degrees, usually 77 max, but kombustor will get it above 80 degrees, even kombustor wouldn't go above 76 before. I was scoring p3246 on 3d mark 11 before now I'm at like 3020. Also artifacts started showing up during the 3d mark 11 test. My biggest concern is how hot it's getting though. Any ideas why this would happen, or is this happening to anyone else?
