i've only had this Laptop for around a month and a half now but since last week my laptop keeps BSOD'ing and having issues with a Display driver NVIDIA Windows Kernel Mode Driver, Version 306.97 stopped responding and has successfully recovered. when i play graphics intensive games. Ive looked around the net for answers and ive tried the ff reccomendation from others but to no avail using this site:
Nvidia Display Driver Has Stopped Responding and Successfully Recovered
Here's what ive done so far and the problem persists:
- ran memtests w/o problems
- ran prime95 w/o problems
- upgraded my BIOS to the latest version for my laptop
- upgraded/uninstalled/rolledback graphics drivers (clean install too)
- COMPLETE reboot (very painful)
- system restore
- changed TDR settings from 2 - 8
- clean registry with CCleaner
- changed the physX settings from auto-select to choosing GPU
- current driver 310.70
Now its gotten worsebefore when i check the NVIDIA Control Panel Settings to the adjust image settings with preview it would only show fuzzy graphics malfunction but still roll and rare BSOD's. Now when i click on that it BSOD's 100% of the time. I cant even play 3D games anymore it just BSOD's. I ran Furmark to see stability and that causes BSOD's too
its so frustrating and sad because this is a new laptop. I not experienced at all with technical issues.
2 weeks ago it was all fine running games like Skyrim and Witcher 2 in Ultra and working perfectly. I noticed this problem started occurring when windows updated. I play games at the Lenovo Dynamic Graphics Setting in power management. Ive overclocked i guess.. using the Lenovo Dynamic Graphics and changing graphics settings in Nvidia but ive never changed in-system settings for overclocking and what not. Everything else works fine with no problems. I have no idea what to do now. If anyone has insight please share and discuss the knowledge
