Hi all, under the "Manage 3D Settiing" in the Nvidia control panel, there are 3 option: Auto Select, High-Performance Nvidia Processor, and Integrated Graphics. I'd figure that high performance Nvidia Processor would yield the greatest performance when gaming, however consumes more power thus giving out more heat. I am currently playing Dragon Age origins with max settings. My concern is, I don't want my laptop to become too hot, do you think the extra performance given by using the High-Performance Nvidia Processor is worth it?

Also, under the PhysX configuration, should I select the dedicated GPU or CPU or simply Auto Select?

    Thanks

It shouldn't hurt anything. Most laptop cooling systems should be able to keep the notebook cool. Is the laptop getting too hot or something under the current settings?

I am using HWMonitor, I have the laptop elevated about 3 inches off the surface. The highest ever record is 81 c. The average temperature is at mid or high 70's c when gaming. This is the CPU temp.

I know that using the dedicated GPU generates more heat than simply using the intel graphics. But I just don't know how much increase in temperature. I like to keep my laptop as cool as possible. However, I also like to have good performance when gaming. Thus the dilemma.

The integrated graphics aren't very strong, so it might not even be able to play current gen games like Dragon Age Origins. I doubt it will, truly.
