    Here's my config:

    IdeaPad Y580
    i7-3610
    8 GB PC12800
    240GB Mushkin SSD
    1 TB Seagate 5400 RPM
    nVidia GTX 660M (2GB)
    Win7x64 Pro, SP1
    Intel Centrino Wireless-N 2200
    Driver 15.3.1.2, 30 September 2013

I've had this laptop since September and have absolutely loved it. However, over the last few weeks, the wireless connectivity has gotten progressively worse. Now, I'm at the point where I highlight anything I type and click "copy" to make sure that, when I hit "post" or "send", I don't disconnect in the middle and lose everything. It seems completely intermittent. It will disconnect without reason, then reconnect without having to try (Sometimes...other times I have to connect manually)

I'm really befuddled about this. I've already done the whole router reboot/reset, updated the drivers, did all Win-7-64 updates, etc.

    any help greatly appreciated.

My experience has been WiFi is very slow when running on battery. Haven't had a chance to test different power profiles, etc.

i'm plugged in at all times. I've seen this problem posted in a few different places on the net, specific with the Y580. Was hoping someone else was having this problem and more specifically, found a solution for it.

Not that it will be much help to you, but I have had it happen to me too on a Y580 I bought to compare to other couple brands. Disconnected and reconnected randomly when other laptops didn't miss a beat. This was one of the items which made me decide to return this one.

Hope you find a solution! If nothing seems to help, I would try to just replace the wifi card to avoid sending the laptop in for service.

I strongly suggest that you uninstall McAfee. I did it right from the start and have no regrets. I heard it causes many problems with wifi so tell me how it goes. If you want to know what I use for antivirus, I use Avast.

sgtrobo, I'd love to know if you find a solution to this problem. I'm about to pull the trigger on the Y580, but stories like yours and sarge's are making me wary.
