    Hi!

I rearly use battery so i enabled 60% mode on my y580. Lately i was working on battery on notices weird situation. Battery drainig was like 60-59-58...20-19-18 and then it sad battery is 0 and hybernated. Checked battery state via HWInfo but its new, absolutely new.

I need to recalibrate it via lenovo energy tool? Is it ok? Cause i have a friend, with same y580 who pushed the button and his laptop stopped working on AC, only on battery.

The first thing you should do is to do a full battery discharge / recharge. This will re-calibrate the battery meter.

There is an option in Lenovo Energy Management for this. See screenshot below.

If you don't have Lenovo Energy Management installed, then you can manually discharge / recharge the battery. First, disable 60% mode. Next, boot the laptop into BIOS mode (do not boot into Windows) and let the battery drain fully to 0%. Then, leave the laptop off, plug in the AC adapter, and let it charge fully up to 100%. That will manually replicate what the Lenovo Energy Management function does.

Could you tell me if your friend manage to solve a problem after trying battery gauge reset on lenovo Y580, I heard that this problem is somehow connected with a motherboard. If so, do yo know how much will it cost to repair it?
