OK, so I'm trying to find out which files to put on a USB to flash old BIOS back. I downloaded the bios from the lenovo site , but whenever i look up how to do insyde bios recovery, i also see them mentioning a .fd file, but what i have is .exe file..

Specifically, what I did in the BIOS was disable the iGPU in an attempt to disable NVidia optimus. I also change the numbers regardinformation temperature, I change the low fan speed to 85% to turn on at 55 C and high fan to turn on at 60 C at 100% .
the main issue is thank. when I urn on the laptop, the laptop display is not showing anything, by starts up fine aside from that (I can hear the windows sound playing when it logs in). I was also wondering if I could blindly reset the BIOS to default. -
try unplugging and taking out the battery.
then hold the power button down for 30 seconds.
then plug everything back in.
this is supposed to reset the default bios values.
so you're saying only the POST screen is blank, but it boots up into Windows eventually? You can see Windows desktop on the screen ?
getting to the cmos battery requires disassembling the laptop case. It's under the trackpad.
You can run everything off nvidia gpu by using the nvidia control panel and setting gtx as default. No need to mess with bios. -
It gets to post bu the only poblem im having is not being able to see anything on the laptop display, even when it logs into windows, which i can hear and for the cmos what all do i need to dissassemble to get to under the trackpad? I took out ram and hard dride battery but i couldnt figure out how to lif that plate after removing the screws. I saw something like a magnetic sticker but i didnt want to go in an deeper
So i iust hold the power button before or after its turned on? -
you unplug the power and take out the battery.
THEN hold the power button down 30 seconds. it will not turn on here -
the power button hold for 30s /unplug everything didn't work, but I fixed it by looking a pic of the modded BIOS and blindly returning the iGPU setting back
