I want to start a fresh install. Never did it before. I want only the basoc deivers for the graphics card, keyboard, usb, touchpad, camera etc... No bloatware. I also want the partition gone and i want to back it up on a seperate thimb drive or usb drive. How do i go about this?

I'm assuming you want a fresh reinstall of Windows, correct?
Do you have a Windows install disk?
But before that I suggest you get a simple partition copier software such as this to back up the one you want.

I don't have a windows install disk. I copied the driver files to s 4gb thumb driver though.
The y580 i got had no windows 7 cd and i dont know the cd key anyhow. I just want it all on one harddrive i copied/pasted the driver folder in the partitioned section to my thumbdrive as i said before.

I have no idea how to go about do anything else though.

I think I gave a fair warning before that if you remove/change any of the partition, you will lose One-Key-Recovery function.

If you aren't experience with windows, I suggest you keep OKR incase you need to do an emergency restoration.

Or at least make recovery DVDs using the OKR program while logged into Windows. Too bad OKR does not include a minimal restore option like the ivy bridge HP Pavilions, which installs a fresh copy of Windows 7 without the crapware. I recall my friend's Thinkpad having such an option, but I may be mistaken.

The basic option is factory conditions. So no, you can't choose a clean install with no bloatware... too bad. However you can create a recovery disc at the actual state, so if you got rid of all the bloatware your self then your good.
