Hello everyone. I have my Y580 since november and recently it's started to lag and I have no idea why. I've got no viruses, malware, windows was freshly installed just a month ago, every driver is up to date, and I'm really out of ideas.
However, temperatures seem to be a little bit too high for an idle state:

I tried cleaning the vents but nothing helps.

    What do you recommend?

For better understaning here's a video:

    Thanks

Yeah those temps look pretty high to me.
I'm no expert but maybe a repaste might help?
The youtube video shows some pretty annoying stuff.
Hope you find a proper solution.

mostly likely a repaste is needed...if the fans are cleaned out, it should be setting within 39-45 degrees while surfing the web ( i have a Y470 with windows 8 and those are my temps and I have no lag at all)..If you are US, i am assuming it's cold where you are and ambient temperatures shouldn't be too bad..if you still have a warranty, call lenovo and tell them your computer is overheating and they will probably repaste the cpu and gpu for you

    p,s, these are all assumptions..

Are you sure the Nvidia GPU is off? Open Hardware Monitor constant polling of the Nvidia chip elevated my temps. My temps went back to ~43-45C when using CPUID's Hardware Monitor, which doesn't poll the Nvidia chip unless it is already active.

install Evga Precision 2.0.3, check start with Windows, it will decrease your Video card core clock and memory clock automatic when not using. And you can use this program to overclock is well
