I ordered this from Costco just since I can return it if it doesn't have the FHD screen: Costco - Out of Stock Lenovo® IdeaPad® Y580 Laptop 3rd Generation Intel® Core. Does anyone have any experience with this model? Does it actually have the 1080p screen? I only ask because the only 64GB SSD model on Lenovo's official site is sold in Europe and is listed with a 768p screen, and sales couldn't answer my question. I won't get it before Wednesday, which is when the really good Lenovo deal ends... so that's why I'm trying to find out the info.

It clearly says in the description that it has a " 15.6" Full HD Display (1920x1080)". The laptop model number is 209942U, and is the same one being sold at multiple online/local retailers, such as:

    Newegg: Newegg.com - lenovo IdeaPad Y580 (209942U) Notebook Intel Core i7 3610QM(2.30GHz) 15.6" 8GB Memory DDR3 1600 1TB HDD 5400rpm Blu-ray RAMBO (Re-writeable) NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660M
    Fry's: FRYS.com | LENOVO
    Best Buy: Lenovo - 15.6" IdeaPad Laptop - 8GB Memory - 1TB Hard Drive - Dawn Gray - 209942U

... all of which serve to confirm that it is indeed the 1920x1080 screen. In fact, I can't even find a retailer selling that specific model which doesn't have a 1080p screen. Rest assured you are getting a model with the 1080p screen. No need to over-think things ;)

I only overtought things because BestBuy had their site mislabeled once, nad none of the others had the 64GB SSD + 750GB hard drive. But that's good to know, thanks.

I think the problem model number was the one ending with CU. But still I'd be hesitant unless you are comfortable with the vendors return policy or are ordering straight from Lenovo.

I ordered that laptop from Costco (Y580 w/ 64gb SSD) and I'm supposed to receive it on Tuesday. I'll confirm the screen resolution for you as soon as UPS drops it off tomorrow!

Look forward to hearing the verdict. When I pull the trigger on the Y580 it'll probably be through costco. Can't beat their 90 day return policy.

Where are you seeing the 64G SSD? I only see the 1TB HD at those links.

Oh that would be awesome thanks! Mine isn't supposed to get here until Thursday and I have to decide by Wednesday so that would be a huge help.

Costco took it down from the site. Interesting...

EDIT: They totally changed the link, the 64GB SSD version is gone. So, I guess we'll have to wait and see.

I just received my Y580 w/64G ssd from Costco and the maximum screen resolution is 1366 X 768 What a disappointment :(

So either they sent me the wrong computer or the screen specs on their website were wrong. I have their Customer service department looking into the issue.

    Exactly what I suspected. It's the same as this model from NewEgg then: Newegg.com - lenovo IdeaPad Y580 (20994EU) Notebook Intel Core i7 3610QM(2.30GHz) 15.6" 8GB Memory DDR3 1600 814GB HDD 5400rpm DVD±R/RW NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660M

Thanks SO much for checking that out for me. Now I know I'm just going to have to get it from somewhere else now before their sales end, you just saved me $100.

MGoBlue, what replacement Y580 did you end up getting? From what vendor? Looks like I'm in the market for a new Y580 now too...

Right from Lenovo, the 500GB 7200rpm model. With a two year accident-proof warranty, it's still $130 cheaper than Costco's model (even though I would get 3 years warranty, not accident though). I'll just add a 120GB mSSD for the difference in cost, it'll be better performance that way and a better deal.

And I called Costco and they said that for the first year, I would want to call the manufacturer anyway for repairs and work, so there really wasn't any difference other than the 90-day return policy.
