I can get a fair priced, for parts, Y580, and motherboards don't seem too badly priced, so I was making sure there's no chance I'd end up with a 640m version or something, since not all sellers list full specs.
I didn't find any but who knows.
Thanks

I have a y580. Pretty sure they all came with gtx 660m. You can check the lenovo y580 support page for drivers to try and narrow down the available parts.
If you put one together from parts, I would try and get officially supported wireless card... rather than try out the hacked bios.
My 580 came with one of these.

or if you need bluetooth try and track down the model that this driver refers to

it is also picky about what display panel you use. lp156wf1(tl)(c1) is one of the 1080p panels it shipped with.
the old post here has info about lcd cables and getting some panels to work with brightness controls

oh, guess what the red arrow points to... bluetooth module separate from wifi -
Oh, that's very good information to have, lol. I would expect it everything but the motherboard should work, but that's no guarantee so good to know. I'll skim the models driver support and see if any other gpu's exist. So far, no.
