Hello all!
I just got my new Y580 yesterday, and something odd is happening: I ordered the model with 64GB SSD, the packaging says the SSD should be 64GB, but when I look at windows explorer is says that drive D: (which is the SSD) has 24.4GB in total (20.6GB of which are free). Everywhere else it says it should contain 64GB. For example, in the device manager, it says it's SAMSUNG MZPMC064HBDR, which is a 64GB drive. in the rapid storage application (accessible from the control panel) it says it's a 60GB.
Should I assume that the SSD drive was configured or detected incorrectly? And if so, should I reformat it, or re-detect it some other way? And if that's not the case, then what's going on? I looked and googled and searched the forums, and no one else seems to have the same problem.
Thanks!
eldodo.

On the stock config the D: drive is the ~25gb driver/application backup partition on the mechanical HDD. The 64GB mSATA SSD is most likely set up for caching from the factory and not as a partitioned drive accessible to windows.
Note: I bought the 209945U which comes with only the 500GB 7200rpm drive and added my own mSATA drive and also replaced the mechanical drive with an SSD. But that's how the drive was configured on my system before I removed it.
Y580: SSD should be 64GB, detected as 24.4GB
