What are must have programs after fresh install for y720? In addition, i want to add 1tb 7200rpm hdd for storage, is it sata6 2.5 inch for lenovo y720, also is it 7mm or 9mm? Any particular hdd recommendations?

    Thanks

    Hey there,

In the Y7xx models the 2,5" bay does not matter if its 7mm or 9mm.
As long as its 2,5" you will do just fine. I would suggest to go for a well known brand like Western Digital or Seagate as the 1TB HDD for storage.

Or if you have some pocket money left go for a 2,5" sata 1TB Sata SSD. You can get them for roughly 100-120$ from most reputable brands these days since the SSD market sort of crashed in the past 4 months and i think its still not elevated yet. So either a 1TB for like 40$ or you go for a SSD and pay a bit more, which usually does not degrade as easily as a Hard Disk Drive and works faster.

Hope I could help you with that answer.

    Cheers,
