    Edit: Y550 I meant...

Anyone try to upgrade the LCD on their Y550? I'm looking to get one at the beginning of january. Be nice to go 1600 x 900 if possible. I really like the price and most of the components, but am already plotting a 7200 rpm HD upgrade w/ a dual boot Windows 7/Xubuntu clean install and some other fun stuff. Any ideas?

You mean you're going to buy one in January and upgrade the screen yourself?

yeah...i've replaced the one on my toshiba 3 times and the one on my friends dell once...its pretty easy...i'm just wondering if anyone has done it on a YP550 and what, if any complications they ran into...

Well, then, just make sure it will not void the warranty if you do so.
All manufacturers share some common screen makers, so should not be a problem.
