Wow, I woke up this morning to the sound of the doorbell ringing and it was the Thinkpad! UPS was blazing fast, it left Anchorage, Alaska around 1:30 or 2 am and at 9:00 am, it was in my hands (I live on the very East Cost, btw). Total time it took to get here from Hong Kong was three days (I paid nothing for shipping).

I opened the box, and My God, what a beautiful machine :)
I am just blown away by Lenovo's attention to detail, their amazingly small and powerful machine. Build quality is amazing, nothing feels cheap or wobbly. Everything is exactly as I ordered (as well it should).

As someone coming from a Dell Inspiron 1150, the R61 is just light years ahead in terms of weight (7.3 lbs vs <5.5), speed (Pentium 4 2.8ghz factory underclocked to 1.6ghz vs T8100 2.1 ghz dual core).

I am like a child on Christmas morning, this is so great.

    Specs:

    14" WXGA+
    T8100
    2gb ram
    120gb hard drive
    vista basic
    x3100 integrated graphics
    4 cell battery
    dvd burner

I am now sold on Thinkpads for life.

Yeah, I was truly amazed at the build quality of my Thinkpad. Other notebooks (well, maybe not all other notebooks) feel like junk in comparison.

    Congratulations.
