Did anyone have the same problem? Before yesterday morning my 9-cell battery was giving me 9-10 hours, now it has gone down to 6-7.
Also, my internet seems slower, though this could be fluke with the ISP in my area.

    What say you?

It could very well be just a fluke. Just monitor it over a couple of days to see if its the case. Personally, I never set to auto update as some of MS's patches may have a very undesirable effect which makes me wonder whether they're extensively tested before they're released.

No issues here, but I also haven't had any need to run via battery since the updates.

You still getting that? Could be just a random thing.

wirleaon: In fact, I got that after two reboots but things went back to 'normal' after the third. So I'm guessing something else.

elixiash: No, it was not an automatic update, heck no. But they don't say: "might could screw with your T400's power mgmt". :)

I disabled Windows Updates on my T400 until I install all of Lenovo's finalized W7 drivers.
