STFA and found bits and pieces of what information I need however, nothing definite. So I am posting a new thread. Have a new R61, great laptop except for the latches on my lid which are NOT functioning as expected. When I close the lid, both left and right latches click into place. There is no lateral movement in the lid which is good. I can flex the lid up and down slightly (1mm at the most) on the left, which is to be expected. BUT if I apply slightly more force, maybe 5 LBS or less? to the front of the lid upwards, without releasing the latch release, i can open my lid. Doesn't take much to do this, and in fact, I notice my laptop is opening while traveling in my bag as well. This is ultra annoying and I am wondering if anyone else has had this issues.

At this point I would classify it a warranty issue and I will be sending it back to get fixed, but wanted to see if anyone else has this specific problem. I have the 15.4" WSXGA+ screen on an R61 T9300.

    Thanks.
