Now that a few reviews are finally out for the yoga 2 pro, I have compiled some of the benchmarks for comparison.

    benchmark2.JPG

Some benchmarks seem to be all over the place, especially the 3dmark11 scores (634 ubergizmo vs 914 engadget). All the reviews had the same configuration: i5 4200U, 4GB, 128GB SSD. For comparison, the surface pro 2 had more consistent scores across the major review sites, around 10-20% higher than the yoga 2 pro with the same configuration (I have included the engadget score for reference). Does anyone have an idea why there is such a discrepancy in the benchmarks? I have read that the CPU might be throttled in other `modes` so that could be why. Also has anyone ran the benchmarks for themselves in the other configurations (i7, 8gb)?

I also found the Surface Pro 2 benchmark Fascinating compared to the Yoga. After much research I find the Haswell processors in particular are extremely dependent on thermal and power design. Some Ultrabooks don't have the ability to fully power and cool the i5 to run at peak performance so the chip automatically slows down. In the worst case it was not designed to cool or even power the processor at peak performance like the Surface 2 pro is, however initial findings at least with the Yoga is that it's simply not tuned that well. Performance seems to be drastically effected by software power/cooling settings. Many of the new Haswell benchmarks you find on the net are junk because we have no idea how they had their power settings setup.
