And, got my "ready for pickup" email! Yay! Now, when to sneak away from work to go get it?

Wait you don't have scaling issues with Canary? The text is still not rendered nearly as crisply as IE in metro mode because of the DPI scaling.

But yeah, the touch input works fine at least which is more important. The scaling issue with Chrome will hopefully be fixed soon and it's really only annoying when using it in tablet mode close to my face.

I am pretty sure that $1199 is correct, especially from BB. It's not a misprint or mistake but what they will be selling that for. They have the i5/4/128 also listed for $999 which is what they always sold the Yoga 1 for.

Same happened to me yesterday. Placed the order and immediately after it was "unavailable" at that store. But today I got a confirmation e-mail saying it is "ready for pickup". So I think you are good.

I ordered the i7/8/256 from Best Buy yesterday after watching this thread for the majority of the morning. I refreshed the Best Buy product page throughout the day, checking the stock at locations near me, and amazingly, it came up for order at the store less then a quarter mile away from me. I immediately ordered it and picked it up last night. It is a gift for my wife for her birthday, so it is still in the shrink wrap (safely hidden at home). I look forward to getting her setup on it tonight! I haven't been this excited about a system purchase in a really long time. The specs versus price with this particular build is impressive!

If that's the case then great! Y2P is an incredible deal compared to other high res ultrabooks out there. I haven't seen an i7 Ativ 9+ for less than 1400.

Just picked up the i7 Y2P from my local BestBuy!!!!

My mistake I didn't even notice until I start using tablet mode more. It's like night and day with the text scaling between IE and Chrome. I was more suggesting scaling in terms of how big the menu bar and frames were before. I really hope this gets chromes attention. Are there similar issues with other high res ultrabooks like Ativ 9 plus? Just curious if this is only an issue with our early adopter status or high res touchscreens in general.

Definitely early adopter issues. Ativ 9+ has the same problem since it's all in the software.

Supposedly firefox scaled much better but I have Chrome synced with all my devices so I'm just going to put up with it until Chrome fixes it. It still looks better than most laptops, but gosh IE in metro mode is GORGEOUS at this res.

Same here, I used firefox too, but I don't have all the extensions/add ons I've grown used to. Seems slower compared to IE and Chrome on my end.

If you're looking for something small, the Microsoft Bluetooth Notebook Mouse 5000 has been terrific for me. Battery lasts about 4 months at time with decent usage and optical accuracy is fantastic.

Can one of you that has the Yoga 2 Pro tell me exactly what wifi card it has? Dual-Band? 802.11AC? Leveno's site and Bestbuy were not very specific.

I read on that page for the wireless card that it can stream to your TV. My TV has no Ethernet or Bluetooth. Is there a device I can attach to my receiver that will allow me to stream and how does that work anyways?

That technology would be Intel Wireless Display.

There are a few WiDi receivers out, such as the Actiontec ScreenBeam ($70). Haven't tried any myself, but I am definitely interested.

According to the QA on the Yoga page, preorders through Lenovo will start tomorrow.

Someone also asked about the Best Buy pricing, and the response was:
Though we clearly know that the 8.1 part is incorrect, as Led Zappa reported his was already running 8.1.

    I just got mine - i7 model.

I was loving it, but I've got a problem. I was downloading a game off of Steam so I could test the GPU and I got kicked off my wireless network. I also tried streaming 4k video (Compression aside, it's looks amazing) and was booted offline as well.
I don't know if it was my router or the laptop, but I keep getting a "Limited Connection" whenever I try and download "too much too fast". (My own words)

My router is a cheapo D-Link a/b/g, so it could be that. What worries me is that the Y2P uses the same Intel N-7260 as the Vaio Pro, which has wireless problems...

Can someone else with a Yoga 2 Pro try streaming 4k and see if you get booted?
Here's a link to a 4k video, set the resolution to "Original."

Now, I'm not saying the Yoga 2 Pro has wireless issues, I'm trying to figure out if it's my Yoga or my Router.

EDIT: Probably just my derpy router.

That video works fine on my end.

Holy CRAP 4k video looks amazing on this thing. It's too bad Chrome's scaling is messed up because it even affects Youtube videos. But in IE10 that video was gorgeous.

I know right? I shat a brick when I first watched it. Imagine what it looks like without Youtube's compression!?

Good to hear. I'll probably just get a new router, which is fine, because I've been meaning to upgrade and setup a bridge with the old one. (I know it cut my bandwidth in half)

Edit: Plugging in a 360 controller and using Steam in big picture mode on the Yoga 2 Pro as a Tablet is an awesome feeling.

Playing games in full screen doesn't always work right, but I was able to get FEX to play at 3200x1800 at about 30fps. Pixel art at that resolution isn't very demanding though. :p

    Yup, that's right.

Also FYI to those uninstalling bloatware. Do NOT uninstall Lenovo's Energy Management software. Without it the laptop won't know when it's in "stand" mode and won't disable the keyboard/trackpad.

I was just able to pick one up at a local Best Buy - Initial impression is that it is very thin, thinner than the MBP Retina that it is sitting next to on my desk. When first booting up I noticed some patches of light bleed on the black screen.....similar to that which I have seen on many Asus laptops.

Once booted - screen is very nice, also this machine is running Windows 8.1.

All the talk I've seen from about the net is saying that it will be released along side Windows 8.1 this Friday (Oct 18). However, some Best Buys are selling them early.

Got mine this afternoon. It's beautiful. Track pad is one of the best I've seen on a non-mac. Not a fanboy, just can't deny that Apple makes damn fine track pads.

Chrome definitely has issues, which I already new from using a Surface for the last many months. But Canary is indeed better. Need to train my fingers on this new keyboard layout, in particular that tiny right shift key. I keep hitting enter or the up arrow instead. But I'm a happy camper overall.

I picked up one today at my local Best Buy. I tried to buy on BB online but had to go into the store instead due to a CC validation issue.
I already had the original Yoga 13 and so tonight I am going to compare the two with a major interest in how much extra battery life the new Yoga 2 Pro has over the older model.

I didn't own the first Yoga but the Yoga 2 Pro runs relatively cool. On average it's sitting at anywhere from 40~45C, with most of the heat towards the back where the exhaust is. I don't have any issues with having it on my lap, but I can feel that it's slightly warm.

Hmm, this isn't really a concern for me, but I know some people are wondering whether this has dual band WiFi or AC, so I thought I'd share this (my mistake if this has already been mentioned). In the Q&A here: Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro: Laptop Tablet Hybrid - Multimode Ultrabook Laptop | Lenovo (US) Someone asks, "Will WI-FI support AC?" and the response was, "Hi, The Yoga 2 Pro US models will come with an Intel wireless card that supports the new wireless AC standard, here's the wireless card: ARK | Intel® Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260 "

Can anyone who has theirs confirm the WiFi card is the Intel 7260?

Maybe the best buy versions are different, because mine also only has the single band 7260. It is mini pci-e though so if you wanted to you could buy the AC card and pop it in.

Edit: The reception is fantastic though. My router is on the 2nd floor of my house in the corner. I get 5 bars everywhere, including the basement. When standing in the basement at the opposite corner of the house (so as far away as I could be from my router) my signal only dropped to -60dbm.

Anyone having issues with the hdmi connection? I'm not getting a picture at all. I tested my cables, hdmi adapter, and for a split second I see the image then it's gone. The only guesses I could come up with is driver or resolution conflict. I adjusted the resolutions at different settings, problem still persists.

Sorry to quote this again, but in case you have read my previous post, I just checked Windows Updates (which I had done yesterday and installed all) and just now when I checked there was a Dell Display Port Update (I have a Dell Display). I installed it, but can't check with display right now. You might want to check Windows Updates, see if you see anything and if there is an update maybe that fixes it.
