I picked this up a few days ago and can't figure out how to turn on and off the graphics card. I used to have an Ideapad which had a switch to turn on/off the dedicated card. Now I think it's software related, but I can't figure it out.

It is controlled automatically through software based on the application you're running. Application specific settings can be controlled through the Nvidia control panel.

I would guess that you can turn it off and on with the bios.

I did use the Nvidia control panel and it does list most installed software to use the card with. I guess it's not what I'm used to since I could actually flip a switch to activate the card on my previous ideapad. I haven't tested programs with it on or off so probably need to do that to convince myself it actually works.

That would be a dealbreaker for me if that was the only way. Being able to switch it on or off on the fly is the only way I would keep this laptop. Nvidia control panel is better than BIOS at least.

BTW, one of my favorite features of this laptop is the large delete key. I also like the hot function buttons for dimmer and volume and since I don't use the regular function keys too much, this is perfect for me.
