    Hi

I am deciding whether to buy an X301 or a T400. I wish to have a balance of portability, and performance.

    Here is the T400:

    T400: CPU T9600 (2.8G, 6M Cache), 4G RAM DDR3, 128G SSD, 9 Cell battery, 14" WXGA+ CFL display, discrete ATI 3470 adapter

    X301: CPU SU9400(1.4G, 3M Cache), 4G RAM DDR3, 128G SSD, 6 Cell battery, 13.3" WXGA+ LED, integrated GMA4500HD

There is a price difference for me is about 450$ more on the X301.

What would be your guess on the difference on weight/battery life/speed of the two systems? The T400 has a more demanding CPU and discrete graphics and larger display, but a better battery.

I guess I know that X301 should be lighter that T400, is slower than T400, and battery lasts longer than the T400. But how much is this difference? Is it worth the extra 450$ in your opinion?

Thank you for helping me with this.

really depends on what you want.

I personally would go with T400. My T400 is similar but with no SSD, still get over 6 hrs of battery life doing webs urfing, MS office work.

thx, how much does your t400 weigh?

I guess then battery life would be around 6.5 or more on the above T400, which is enough for me. Weight is the next issue then.

I think it is over 2.7kg with 9 cell battery.

The T400s is supposed to fill the gap between T400 and X301, both in terms of performance and portability.
