Hello, I have a Z370 (second gen i5) that I would like to replace the wireless BGN adapter with a 4965AGN from my old HP (dv6853cl) laptop. Is it just a simple plug-in and software update? My router is a DIR-825 and I want to be able to use the 5Ghz band.

It probably won't boot with the HP card in there. Lenovo like to whitelist cards in the BIOS and if it's not on the list, it's probably not going to work. A Lenovo branded card should work, but that'll cost.

How about from an old X60? It's more of an IBM though. I can't remember if it's abgn.

I don't believe the X60 WiFi cards are N if that's what you're after. Even so the antenna setup on your IdeaPad will play a role. If it's got a 2x2 antenna setup, then N is probably out too.

I guess the only alternative is a USB adapter such as the refurbished Linksys AE1000-RM.
