Hi, I own a i5 2450M sandy bridge Z470 with dedicated GPU, nvidia gt5XX series

As the title suggested, could I upgrade from sandy bridge to ivy bridge CPU? And from i5 2nd gen to possible i7 3rd gen (36XXQM quad core) with hyperthreading?

Do I need to do any BIOS mod or is it a straight swap? I have searched high and low but haven't found anything..

Any suggestion would be great :)

Quick update. (thanks for moving the thread to the appropriate section)
Looks like almost all of this kind of upgrade would require an update BIOS to support ivy bridge. So it would be a no go. Decided to upgrade from i5 to i7-quad core instead + SSD + overclock the 2gb 540m GPU :)
