i just accidentally dropped a candle on the corner of me ideapad z580, which in turn spilled a small amount of coffee on the keyboard, which filtered down into the laptop.

ive removed the battery, used a blow dryer on low & the coolest setting [i realize if done wrong this can cause more damage].

now the laptop will turn on & make sounds as if it were working/booting up, but the fan runs super fast & the display doesnt work.

my plan is to leave the back cover off & the battery out for a while [24-48 hrs?] then try to turn it on again, before taking it into the shop as a last resort.

i was wondering if anyone had any ideas of what could be wrong & a better way to fix the issue? i am more or less an amateur with these things.

    any help is appreciated greatly.
