    Hi!
First of all sorry for my english:/ it isn`t perfekt

I have a z60m and my little child (3 years) has broken the center pin in the coaxial power plug.

It is market "signal". DC power is using the outside and inside part of the
barrel, so it still works great.

What does this signal do? It is nessecery to have it?
Can i plug this power cord to my laptop without any problems ?

After a small investigation :D i discovered the signal cable isnt used (there are only 2 cord in power cord) am i right?

    ThX in advanse for answer

It is needed for the power plug to work properly with the laptop. I would highly suggest you purchase a new AC adapter (they are 41 bucks from Lenovo).

If the plug is messed up anyways, chop off the end leaving maybe 2-3" of lead from the plug in case you need to resolder. Chop into both wires coming from the adapter, and see if there is a center conductor inside one of the wires. Another possibility is the center plug has no wire, but instead is connected by resistor from the ground side. I just checked my center plug, and it is definitely connected to something, giving about 9k of resistance from the outside ground area. The power adapters have some way of identifying themselves to the laptop (my T60 knows if its a 90w or 65w connected). I am guessing its that.
