If you haven't seen it already, there is a new deal on a fully loaded Z60M posted for only around $1600. It is listed as WSXGA on the deal, but the model actually comes with the MaxBright screen. I was set on a T43p, but this give me thought.
A big part of my T43p decision was the Flexview screen. Am working with an R52 for the moment, and it never has unform brightness and horred vertical viewing angles. I had an A30p before, so the Flexview seemed like a must.
So has anyone seen a MaxBright for comparison? The Z60M review here says the regular WSXGA screen is good, can anyone at least compare that screen to a Flexview for an idea of what the MaxBright would be like?
    Thanks!

How do you know which screen it comes with? THe AMX deal lists a WSXGA+, but the website lists WXGA.

I checked the tabook, which is the file that lists all the specifications for specific models. This model is one of three with MaxBright, and the only one with that and the X600.

Do you have the link for the tabook? does this model of the Z60M have the verizon wireless built in? And is this model the WXGA or WSXGA+ with maxbright? Thanks.

I think the only Z60m models with the MaxBright option are specified models with the WXGA resolution and at least the ATI X300 Radeon graphics card. You can verify this by going to the Lenovo website. When you open the WXGA models with MaxBright (252901U and 252902U), click the "Customize & Buy" button, and it will indicate that they are MaxBright models (300 nits of brightness, according to Lenovo's figures in the "Personal Systems Reference--Thinkpad Notebooks" manual, Oct. 2005, Version 298, which confirms that MaxBright is only offered on WXGA models).

The WSXGA models, such as the 2529EAU, are not MaxBright and thus will not indicate MaxBright when you click on Customize & Buy. (Still, the regular Z60m is rated at 200 nits of brightness, according to the manual, which is still greater than the 150 nits on T43's and all other ThinkPads.) I've ordered my WXGA MaxBright today; now starts the long wait, with the Lenovo salesman saying he hoped I could have it by end of December or early January. :buyIBM:

I used the WSXGA non-Max Bright screen and was pleased with it. Unfortunately I have not seen a MaxBright screen, probably won't until January when I'm hoping Lenovo has one with them when we see them at CES (January 4th). Seems like there's a dirth of people that actually have a Z60m, shipping nightmares, so you might not find too many comments to be found on this screen unfortunately.

Actually, if you look at the 2530 series models in the tabook, and in particular the one one sale now through the Amex deal, 2530-38U, this is the one Z60M with MaxBright and the X600. The other models are X300, but this one is the full deal.
Thanks for the timeline Abaxter. January, ****! We need to make some more Chinese and Japanese friends for the forum so we can get some preview information from abroad!

The 15" are rated 200nits brightness. The 14" are rated 150nits.
