I bought a used Z60T from my neighbor and absolutly love it except for the screen. It is soooo dim. Does anyone know if the screen can be replaced? I also own a cheap compaq v2000 and the screen is so much brighter and colorful. I have done my research and I understand why business class notebooks primarily have matte surfaces and I can talk about about nits until I am blue in the face but it really will not change the fact that Z60T's screens suck! I have researched the web and can't find information on replacing the screen but I did find this company www.ScreenTekLtd.com
I emailed a rep and this was his response:
    Thank you for your inquiry.

In 65% of situations such as the one you’re describing, the problem lies with the power inverter (i.e. very dim screen but you still can see the images).

We suggest changing the inverter prior to purchasing a new screen since a broken inverter wouldn’t light even a new panel.

Unfortunately we do not carry inverters; please try ebay.com.

    I hope this helps –

He did not have a clue what I was talking about! I sent another email explaining that the computer was not defective but I have'nt heard back from him. Anyway, I would appreciate any advice. Oh, the warranty has expired too. I am a noob so I hope that this not a duplicate post.
