    I've tried to replace the original HDD with this Samsung model but it hangs on boot. Did anyone manage this drive to work with this NB? :confused:
    Any recommendations for HDD?

    I think it's possible that the HDD may be defective. Have you tried testing the CD to see if that's not defective?

    Create a bootable CD with Samsung's HUTIL and run the tests.

    The HM250HI and HM160HJ had some bugs, but yours is neither of these.

    You might also have a problem with the SATA speed.

    @Arkit3kt
    CD is OK. The HDD is working fine on my desktop (though I haven't tested to boot from it)

    @John Ratsey
    I will run Samsung's HUTIL this afternoon.

    I've tried to apply the HMxxxHJ pathes, but that doesn't solve the problem.

    The HM160HI is as drive with a Serial ATA 1.5 Gbps interface, so it shouldn't be affected.
