Note: Machine is IBM Thinkpad Z60m with Omega Videocard drivers and all problems occur with AC plugged in.

All right, so when I leave my Dorm room to go to places without the laptop, I use Fn+F2 to lock it. However, a lot of time I get back the system has reverted into some weird resolution for some unknown reason. If I reset the resolution, it goes back to normal. But I have to to do this almost every time I put it in lock.

Also, not quite as often, if I leave it in lock for extended period of time, it gets a black screen which it will not recover from (the laptop is unresponsive). It still has its power on and all that jazz, but it's not hibernating or sleeping. So, I must shut it off completely and restart it for it to work. It really gets on my nerves.

How can I fix these things?
